About Kyvoo – KYVOO

Our Story

In the world of aviation, CAVU stands for “Ceiling And Visibility Unlimited,” describing ideal flying conditions with clear skies and perfect visibility. This concept inspired the name of our company, Kyvoo (/KY-voo/), where “KY” is pronounced like “sky” without the “s.” Three of our four founders are pilots, and they wanted a name that not only reflected the future they envisioned for their product but also embodied the joy and pleasure of working together to achieve something great with Kyvoo’s flagship product, Assist.

Our Chief Legal Officer and Chief Operating Officer, Burt Stevens, is one of fewer than 800 Master Certified Flight Instructors in the world. Burt is also a lawyer and a lifelong entrepreneur, having built many successful businesses. He was the driving force that brought the other founders together, recognizing their shared passion for aviation and the potential of a new technology, AI, to help companies.

From a technology standpoint, two of our other founders had been working with AI and enterprise consulting for decades. They both saw the benefits and challenges of the current implementation of AI. Richard Wilson, one of these founders, is a serial entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in startups, both in aviation and technology. His passion for delivering measurable benefits has been a driving force behind Assist, ensuring it functions in ways that real companies need to recognize benefits from day one.

Our other technical founder was working at Microsoft when we first started and had a long history with helpdesk software. He previously built a company that was Microsoft’s Product of the Year, a Gartner Magic Quadrant leader, and ultimately purchased by Computer Associates. As Kyvoo shifted into the practical world of delivering and maintaining the Assist solution, this founder chose to exit the company for other pursuits, though his impact is still felt to this day.

Our last founder, Molly Stevens has been instrumental in the funding and running of numerous businesses throughout her career. Her business experience and financial support have been crucial to our success. Along with Burt and Richard, she has helped build a world-class team of software and AI engineers to develop a product, company, and culture that we believe is second to none.
